1 dead, 1 injured in deadly Pennsylvania car accident
Drivers on Pennsylvania roads have a duty of reasonable care to other drivers and pedestrians on the road. When someone fails to obey traffic laws or becomes distracted, tragic circumstances can result. A man has died after injuries he sustained in a car accident. Another person involved in the accident sustained major injuries and had to be flown to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The crash occurred when the man driving a Kia was traveling west at a high rate of speed. He lost control of his vehicle and slid into opposite traffic. A Honda traveling east could not avoid the man’s vehicle and slammed into it. The impact of the crash caused the Kia to flip and land on top of the woman’s vehicle.
The Kia driver died and the woman was taken to the hospital. Her current condition is unknown. Authorities are still investigating the crash and the factors that led to it.
It takes only a second of distraction for a deadly car accident to occur. When someone looks away from the road or focuses on something other than driving, they can lose concentration and end up causing a tragic crash. Although the other driver died, the woman could still level a legal claim against his estate and seek damages for her injuries. He could still be liable for this accident, even after his death if a claim against the estate is successfully litigated. Although no reports of such a suit are listed, this could be an option for the woman as she struggles to recover from this deadly Pennsylvania crash.
